Messy Hearts Circle
For the parts of life that don’t have clear rooms
Messy Hearts Circle is a small, facilitated group experience for people of all backgrounds who want a safe, non-judgmental space to reflect, share, and listen deeply.
The space is especially resonant for MENA and SWANA diaspora, shaped by cultural nuance, migration, family expectations, and lives lived between worlds.
Some parts of life don’t move easily through everyday conversations.
You might be carrying things that don’t have a clean place to land.
Feelings about family, relationships, desire, guilt, belonging, or the life you’re living versus the one you were expected to live.
You may feel emotionally alone, even when you’re surrounded by people.
Messy Hearts Circle exists for moments like these.
A place to slow down, reflect together, and be met with care.
Messy Hearts Circle offers a different kind of room.
WHAT THIS IS
• A structured, confidential space for shared reflection and connection
• Gently facilitated, with clear agreements that prioritize emotional safety
• Rooted in diasporic nuance, cultural awareness, and lived experience
• It is secular, queer-welcoming, feminist, and anti-racist space. It is open to anyone who resonates with its values.
WHAT THIS IS NOT
• This is not therapy
• It is not life coaching
• It is not an open discussion or free-flowing conversation
• This is not an identity-restricted space. Anyone who resonates with its themes and values is welcome.
HOW IT WORKS
• Small circles of 6–8 participants
• 2-hour in-person or online sessions
• Guided prompts and simple connection exercises
• Equal care, time, and respect for each voice
WHO THIS IS FOR
For people carrying a lot on the inside, and wanting a place where that can land.
If you’ve felt emotionally alone, between worlds, or unsure where you fit, this space may meet you gently.
This space is especially welcoming to immigrants and diasporic people from anywhere, across generations, whether you’re 1st generation or 10th.
We gather on Indigenous lands, and we acknowledge the ongoing displacement, erasure, and harm Indigenous peoples continue to endure on their own land. Indigenous participants are welcome here.
